Sussman Shank is pleased to welcome business attorney Chris Fowler, LL.M., as a Partner in the firm’s Business Department. Chris brings significant experience working with closely-held companies and individuals in real estate related business matters, including litigation. He has been recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America for Litigation – Real Estate.
His practice focuses on the areas of business, finance, commercial law, construction, regulatory compliance, banking, and litigation. In addition, Chris has handled breach of contract, adverse possession, fraud, FCRA, TCPA, FDCPA, TILA, and RESPA claims, among others, and has appeared in Oregon state and appellate courts, and federal district and bankruptcy courts.

Prior to joining private practice, Chris served as General Counsel at ScanlanKemperBard Companies, a commercial real estate development firm with projects throughout the Western United States. He also served as Senior Counsel at Umpqua Bank and at Seterus Inc., an IBM subsidiary, where he handled mortgage and commercial compliance, employment investigations, cybercrime investigations and defense, government and regulatory matters, and commercial litigation.
Chris earned his LL.M. in Corporate Bankruptcy from St. John’s University. He received his J.D. from the University of Tennessee and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He is admitted to practice law in Oregon and before the Federal District Court of Oregon.
