Business Transaction Attorney
Sussman Shank LLP is seeking a 2025 or 2026 law school graduate for a full-time associate position in our Business Practice Group, to start immediately in our Portland office. The candidate must be licensed or pending licensure in the State of Oregon and interested in developing a business transactional practice. This position offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of business transactions, including:
- Mergers & acquisitions;
- Entity formations and general corporate matters;
- Real property leases, easements, and purchase and sale transactions;
- Real and personal property-based financing;
- Distribution and services contracts and other commercial matters;
- Technology and Licensing contracts, trademark and copyright matters, NDAs
We seek a detail-oriented, collaborative lawyer who takes ownership, shows initiative, and embraces continuous professional growth. Responsibilities will include assisting with complex transactions, drafting clear and effective legal documents, and communicating with clients.

Sussman Shank is seeking a full-time attorney with a minimum of 6 years of business experience to join our Business Practice Group. This position offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of business transactions including:
- Mergers & acquisitions
- Sales and purchases of real estate
- Real and personal property-based financing
- Business formations and general corporate matters
- Intellectual property
- Experience in tax, securities, land use or environmental is a plus
The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling both large and small transactions. This includes the ability to manage complex transactions, including client-ready documents, maintaining direct client contact, and contributing to a high level of client service.

Attorney – Litigation
We are seeking to add a full-time associate to our Litigation practice.
Applicants should have:
- Minimum 5 years of litigation experience
- Experience drafting pleadings, handling discovery
- Outstanding written and oral advocacy skills
- Oregon State Bar, Washington a plus
- Willingness to travel as needed for court appearances, deposition appearances, and client meetings
- Strong academic credentials
- Strong work ethic
- Excellent attention to detail
This position will include legal research and writing, discovery, meetings with clients and opposing counsel, attending depositions, in-court assistance and observation, and working with a dynamic group of attorneys and staff.
