The Huffington Post has named a lawsuit brought jointly by Sussman Shank LLP, and the Portland office of Davis Wright Tremaine, as one of "the biggest moments involving the transgender community over the course of the last year."

The article is available by clicking HERE.

Sussman Shank and Davis Wright filed the lawsuit in February 2013.  The complaint alleges that California Baptist University violated our client's civil rights by excluding, suspending, and expelling her because she is transgender.  The lawsuit has the potential to set groundbreaking precedence concerning application of California's civil rights statute.  The Sussman attorney litigating the case is Clifford S. Davidson.
