Howard M. Levine to present at the 25th Annual Northwest Bankruptcy Institute Seminar
Portland, OR -- Sussman Shank Partner Howard Levine will be co-presenting a talk entitled "The 3 Cs of LLCs and LLPs: Conflicts, Controversies, and Challenges" at the 25th Annual Northwest Bankruptcy Institute. The program will be held on April 27-28, 2012, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seattle, Washington. This year's program will focus on a variety of hot bankruptcy topics including mortgage management and litigation, bankruptcy decisions, and Chapter 13 recent developments. Judges, lawyers, and other professionals from Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and around the country will be presenting and will also be in attendance. Howard Levine is a partner in Sussman Shank's Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Group. He focuses his practice on representing debtors and creditors in Chapter 11 reorganization cases and out-of-court workouts and debt restructurings. Howard's creditor practice includes representing commercial factoring companies, secured creditors, purchasers of assets through bankruptcy, and other parties filed under all chapters of the Bankruptcy Code. Howard's chapter 11 debtor practice includes the highly specialized representation of nonprofit religious corporations in chapter 11 reorganizations. More specifically, he has served as counsel for the debtor-in-possession in the chapter 11 cases of the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon and Society of Jesus, Oregon Province. In addition to his bankruptcy practice, Howard has substantial experience with complex commercial litigation and UCC disputes and preference, fraudulent conveyance, discharge, and dischargeablity litigation. Howard is licensed to practice law in both Oregon and Washington, but he regularly represents clients in complex chapter 11 cases filed throughout the United States.
