Our Health Care Group is a multi-disciplinary team that draws on the expertise of the firm’s business, bankruptcy, business litigation, creditors’ rights, employment, real estate and finance attorneys to serve health care clients. Although the Health Care Group has extensive depth and experience with regard to long-term care and senior housing, we also represent physicians and other providers.
For nearly a decade, the Health Care Group’s Chair has been a senior officer and director of a prominent multi-state, long-term care company. This enables our Health Care Group to better analyze our clients’ issues from both a business and legal perspective. Consequently, we fully understand the issues facing this complex industry. Collectively the attorneys in the Health Care Group have over 125 years of experience counseling clients and offering practical solutions to their clients’ problems.
The Health Care Group works with clients in the acquisition and divestiture of health care businesses, on financing transactions and with management agreements. We also help clients with the formation and governance of health care business entities.
We work closely with providers regarding resident admission and discharge, accounts receivable collection, compliance with evolving laws and risk management strategies, and we provide particularized training in these areas. Additionally, we counsel health care companies regarding their post-judgment options and risks in the event an adverse judgment is entered against them.
We also focus on employment issues specific to health care businesses, including the drafting of employment agreements and providing advice and training concerning hiring, evaluations, compensation, terminations, compliance with state and federal employment laws, and effective and accurate documentation.
