Our Environmental Law Practice Group applies its knowledge of the law, creative thinking, persuasive skills and team effort to serve our clients in achieving their goals. We advise and represent our clients in transactions, negotiations with governmental agencies, regulatory compliance, litigation, alternative dispute resolution forums, and in bankruptcy. We use our expertise to orchestrate practical and cost effective solutions to a wide range of environmental issues. The Environmental Practice Group works closely with technical experts, public relations, insurance and other professionals as needed to meet all of our clients' needs.

The services of the Environmental Law Practice Group include: 

  • CERCLA, RCRA and related hazardous waste claims and remedial actions, including cost recovery and contribution;
  • Representation of potentially responsible parties in obtaining "No Further Action" determinations, and in negotiating and performing Consent Orders and in regulatory enforcement proceedings;
  • Defense of environmental citizens suits, including Clean Water Act (CWA) and RCRA;
  • Due diligence, environmental audits, and representation of parties in the sale, lease, or financing of environmentally affected property (underground storage tanks, contaminants, water rights, wetlands, etc.);
  • Brownfield redevelopment and prospective purchaser agreements;
  • Chemical exposure claims, including property damage and personal injury;
  • Defense of asbestos claims;
  • Representation of contractors and owners in mold and other "sick building syndrome" claims;
  • Representation of environmental professionals and contractors;
  • Representation of debtors, creditors, trustees and other interested parties in bankruptcy matters with environmental issues; and
  • Expert witness advice and testimony.
